Do you believe in ghost, spirits, witches or spells? In Cambodia, many people believe in spirits and energy. Stieng people believe in Buddhism
and animism. Which means that they believe in ancestors and holy material. Traditional healer are not as common nowaday since there is hospital and health center yet, Stieng people still bring sick ones to traditional healer. There were also traditional healer during pol pot. If someone is sick before bringing them to traditional healer, they first will go to the doctor and if medicines doesn’t work they will go and meet the traditional healer believing they did something wrong and anger the spirit. The method that traditional healer use is burning incense and praying, showering the patient with holy water or using other traditional medicine and method to help cure the patient. Sometimes Stieng people believe that the patient might be curse or bewitch by other people. Stieng people believe that if you have abscess, you can use a piece of fabric and put the leaf of Jackfruit and wear it around your neck to get rid of it.

មនុស្សឈឺ គេនឹងយកគាត់ទៅមន្ទីពេទ្យ សិនបើថ្នាំមិនមានប្រសិទ្ធភាពទេ គេនិងយកគាត់ទៅគ្រូខ្មែរ ដោយមានជំនឿថា មានគេដាក់អំពើ ឬធ្វើឆ្គងលើអ្នកតា ផ្សេងៗ។
វិធីសាស្រ្តដែលគ្រូខ្មែរប្រើនោះគឺ ដុតគ្រឿងក្រអូប ដូចជា ធូប និងអធិស្ឋាន ការស្រោចទឹកឬប្រើថ្នាំបុរាណនិងវិធីសាស្ត្រផ្សេងៗទៀត ដើម្បីជួយព្យាបាលអ្នកជំងឺ។ ជួនកាលគេជឿថា អ្នកជម្ងឺអាចត្រូវគេដាក់បណ្តាសា ឬក៏ត្រូវបានអ្នកដទៃបញ្ចុះបញ្ចូល។ អ្នកស្រីស្ទីងជឿជាក់ថាប្រសិនបើអ្នកមានអាប់សនោះអ្នកអាចប្រើក្រណាត់មួយហើយដាក់ស្លឹកឈើខ្ចប់ហើយយកវាទៅដាក់ករបស់អ្នកដើម្បីកម្ចាត់វា។
